As nice as my new Komodo is, I'm lamenting the way I have to set the aperture when the only monitor I have is the on-camera screen. (I don't always want to carry an external monitor or ad hoc iPhone) As soon as I tap the aperture button, the aperture slider appears; and covers the goal posts and histogram. So I'm left with the inconvenience of alternating between the default screen, to see the goal posts, and the aperture slider. Pretty inconvenient, or has a smarter user than I figured out how to do this?

The best solution would be for RED to activate the lens adapter ring on the Canon lens adapter.

Yeah, I brought this up in the UI and UX Ideas thread.

Reviving this thread because I get an internal server error when I try start a new thread.

Just got my Komodo a couple days ago. Have not done any proper tests but loving it so far. So small and light!

One thing I'm already missing a bit from DSMC2 is assignable buttons. I ride my aperture quite a lot and it's a bit slow to do this on the top screen. It would be great if there was a "hide sliding ruler thing" mode where we could highlight, for example, aperture from the bottom menu, then use the up/down buttons to adjust it without having the rest of the interface hidden by the ruler. Alternately some way to assign the buttons. For example, a long press of the menu button could change the buttons from their default behaviour to an assigned behaviour.

On the hardware side, I've only seen (non-wifi) accessories with start/stop buttons. Do any have assignable buttons?

Thanks,
Rob
