  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Is a olpf like global shutter adaptor possible?

could there be options from ccd or cmos sensor upgrades?

I know the rolling shutter is so fast on the REDs already, however still interested.

no, I am talking strictly about image capturing, not ND or polarizer, also let me add, is it possible to do such thing without stop loss?

Motion Mount, while also offering filtering capabilities, does provide global shutter capabilities. An OLPF is a passive device - it just sits there. AFAIK, global shutter needs to be an active device, integrated into the rest of the camera workings. Unless I misunderstand your question completely, I don't see how a passive device like an OLPF, sitting in front of the sensor, could provide global shutter capabilities.

Spot on. A global shutter device for RED needs to be active.

MM is the way to go, and it's actually a great way since it also offers different global shutter-modes.

Yes and more I was designing for an adaptor ten years ago when sensors were rubbish, but then they got better. As people have been saying you can use a motion mount and olpf.

At this stage it might be that high end sensors might make such a product largely unnecessary. You might find a camera you like within a year or two.

ok forget the olpf idea, lol, and no motion mount is not for me any more, although I love it. just looking for global shutter options like the MM WITHOUT STOP LOSS, ND, OR POLARIZER....so please forget MM for s second :)

Had to reiterate i love the motion mount, its sitting next to me...
