Sensor lifespan

I have a question, and I apologize if this topic has been covered. Do CMOS sensors have a lifespan? Do they wear out eventually? And if so, how many hours are they expected to last? And if they wear out, what are the signs, loss of quality, dead pixels, just die all together? Sorry for the doom and gloom topic but I was just thinking about hours on the camera and what will the state of a camera be after say 4000 hours of use.

Hmm.. Based on experience with cmos sensors in DSLRs I would expect to see more dead pixels over time but the oldest CMOS video cameras I own are 10 years old and don't look any worse for the wear...
