Not the first footage I wanted to be posting on here. We have some great test stuff from Builds 13-14 and it's hard to say whether 15 caused this, but regressing to 14 or 13 only gives us slightly less completely dark areas. Anyone seen anything like this? At all? Cooling the camera down seemed to help a bit but it could be placebo.

I've already sent in a tech request on red.com/support

try re-doing the black shading .. i saw something like that when i hit the black shading by accident and the lens cap was off lens for about 5 seconds...
infact i would like to request that the black shading be 1 step deeper into the menu like all the otehr surrounding items listed with it ...

make sure lens cap is on the camera ( and i always stop down)

looks like a black shading mishap to me.

This survives multiple black shades on multiple firmware versions...

Ouch, that sounds more serious. Was the camera subjected to any mechanical or electrical stress, etc. ? This is probably unrelated, but since you asked if anyone had seen anything similar... My little pocket digicam (Sony DSC-T1) which had worked fine for several years, started giving me crazy images a month ago. It is worse in video mode than still mode, but both are now unusable. Here is an example still frame. No idea why. I assume it is some hardware problem.

Cailyoung, thanks for sending the incident ticket to Support. Our technicians are on the case and checking out your footage. We'll get back to you with more info....

Thanks, BC

Nothing particularly serious - that I'm aware of; there's always a chance of something random and accidental. It was flown here over the Pacific, which isn't the smoothest of flights, and it's been driven to our office.

Looks like we sorted it - doing a black shading "restore" under Build 15, then going back to 13 and black shading twice to get all the weirdness out.

Trying build 15 again now.
