Hey everyone,

I'm trying to figure out the best way to send Premiere Project files (that have some dynamic link clips with AE) to Resolve for grading. Normally I would do all my edits in Premiere (without any effects/speed ramps and what have you) and then send to Resolve via XML for grading and then back to Premiere or AE for finishing. However on this current project, the clients wanted a bunch of things added (removing telephone poles, slowing down some of the footage via Twixtor -- nesting method, track camera, etc etc) before picture lock. Basically half the commercial has some sort of AE linked or "nested-Twixtor" clips.

Is the simplest solution is to export in DNxHR, bring to Resolve and grade, then finish off with Premiere with graphics?

The project was shot with 5K Epic Dragon and ideally I would like to utilize Camera Raw in Resolve so I can try to nail in a good starting point for grading, but if it's too messy to try and "turn off" effects --> send to Resolve & grade --> round trip back to Pr and try to relink everything back, then I may just go about exporting a compiled file?

Any suggestions?

Thanks

No, the speed-changed effects will not work. My advice would be to export just the speed-changed shots in some very low-compressed format like ProRes 444 or DNxHD 444 or DNxHR. You may also want to consider actually finishing the project in Resolve. I think Resolve 12.5 is actually robust enough to do that with quite a few projects.
