We are self distributing our film Anchor Baby. Tomorrow is the Canadian Theatrical Premier.

I co-produced this film last year along with writer, director Lonzo Nzekwe a fellow Reduser. We shot on location in Brampton and Mississauga, with Lonzo's RED ONE and my RED ONE, both cameras were on the original Sensor at the time of production. It has won a number of awards internationally, including Best Film, Best Screenplay and Best Actress, at the Harlem International Film Festival and the Los Angeles Movie Awards among others.

Anchor Baby will run in Toronto and Dallas, TX cinemas. July 8th is the official Toronto theatrical release:

Albion mall, Etobicoke, ON. Showtime is 7pm Daily. Tickets are $10.

The Dallas, TX screening is a one day event, on July 10th, 4pm. Venue is Uptown Theater, Dallas, TX.

Check out the trailer below, select 1080p and then fullscreen : )

Heya thanks Rion!

Thank you Hans and Mark.

Mark, Lonzo is the man who has struck out and self distributed this film internationally. The film has had a theatrical run in Nigeria and is going soon to Ghana, SA, and the UK. It is opening tonight in Toronto Canada, and soon in US theatres.

I'll let Lonzo speak to the specifics of the distribution model.

Here are some audience reactions to the film in Nigeria.

i've seen the movie, its watchable, story is interesting, but i dont think the movie did the story justice

great trailer and compelling story. all the best Ian, it also looks great!

Thanks Tim and Sam, final color was done at RED LABS in Toronto.

Congrats!

I wish I could have met you in Vancouver at CIFF. Another time.
I haven't been to Vancouver in years. Such a beautiful place, (as long as it isn't the NHL Finals!).
I'm looking to do a lot more traveling next year so perhaps I'll attend.

Thanks guys for all the support. Last night's Toronto premiere was awesome. Great turn out. Movie is now out throughout the week at Albion Cinemas (Inside Albion Mall) in Etobicoke, Ontario.

@ Mark We are simply negotiating with cinemas directly in different territories to release the movie theatrically. We have released in Nigeria and Ghana where the movie stayed in cinemas for a total of 12 weeks. Our next stop is UK where we are negotiating a 5-10 cinema initial release with a major cinema chain out there. We are also looking at other territories and if anyone is interested in booking us screens, please leave me a message.

I am trilled to see you guys made it happened.
The trailer looks fantastic, I can't believe it was shot only couple of blocks from my place:)
All the best of luck and success with the film!!!

Thanks Albert, you'll probably recognize some of the locations in Brampton. The motel Joyce stays at is right at Queen and Kenedy N.
