  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Selective noise reduction tutorial

Thanks :) I'm having a play with Premiere today in my lunch break... Will try and get a solution up for y'all.

That was great, I'm definitely going to use this. One question though, is there a reason why you have to render out a noiseless version for the first track? Or can you just apply the filter on track 1 and render it out once?

Thanks Elan :) Typically no, if you grade your shot inside of your NLE, you don't need to render it out. But for the keying technique (non native NEAT VIDEO plugin scenario), you still a copy of the noise-free and a copy of noise-full on separate tracks. They interact with each other based on your track-matte's luma values.

For those of you using Premiere Pro (shudder), here's a very special, very quick tutorial, just for you ;)

Thanks Matthew—definitely appreciate it!

Nice tutorial Matt. I read most of your posts, good read. :)
Neat Video is truly spectacular. I use it for everything that needs noise reduction and also for sharpening. It can also reduce banding if you every have to work with 8 bit video material since it "rebuilds" the image in 16 bit.
