Hey Guys,

Is there anyway in Final Cut to move or consolidate only files used in the edit. Right now I'm trying to select only the Pro Res files I'm using to move to a different system to do color grading on, is there an easy way of taking only the files I've used without manually selecting them all?

Peace,
-Darren

right click the sequence in the project navigator and select "Media Manager". down at the bottom choose a new destination and the media manager will create a new fcp project for that sequence and place the media in the new destination.

Note: if working with R3D files, i recommend Clipfinder (free or pro versions)

Check the options carefully in Media Manager. Make sure you only reference the media used, not the entire master clips. The interface shows you how much space your managed project will use - this gives you a pretty good idea of whether or not you are being selective enough. You can also select to copy used media to another location etc.

Note that if you are intending to use Color, you will also want to tidy up your timeline - not all effects and layers will copy across to it.
