So Im taking a trip to chicago and I found out that Jurassic Park is being shown at the Music Box Theater. I was pretty excited about it but now that im actually here, its incredible. the building is amazing. Im super pumped about this.

I havent seen this movies in theaters since I was 3 and I dont remember the experience. So im excited to see it now.

You think that's amazing ( remember seeing the 1st in a theater, it was epic).. Spielberg just announced that a 4th installment is happening.

It sure made me feel like a geezer. I was 12 or so when the movie came out. I'd love to see it digitally in a modern theater.

Ha! Well it was awesome seeing it. It was on a film print in a really really old theater and the crowd we saw it with was awesome. Every time "hold on to your butts" was said they'd all cheer. Or anytime Jeff Goldblum was on the screen they'd cheer.

It was one of my best experiences in chicago so far.

Music Box is probably my favorite movie theater in the country. I used to live a few blocks from there and have seen a lot of great films under that roof. Love the organ too.

I saw Jurassic Park at McCormick Place in Chicago when it was first released, it definitely made an impression on me at that scale, much more than Avitar in IMAX 3D did for example. Despite the fact that it's not my favorite film by a long shot, the experience of seeing it on the big screen is in my top 10 theater going experiences, including Apocalypse Now Redux and the 70mm print of Dune I saw way back when.

Wow did this just make me feel old, or what!?
Indeed :D

Coming from a street fair where I could find and buy on the spot Olmi's 'Il Posto' (1961) DVD [ LINK ] in order to offer to someone (along a few Kurosawa's from 40s, 60s and 70s, one of Spielberg's inspirations), funny to have read this posted here :-)
