Hey guys. Here are a couple of un-released music videos coming your way in the next couple of months...so for RU's eyes only. :thumbup1:
I DP'd/Shot and graded the music videos (graded off the master 4K pro res exports I was provided by the director/editor since the look they provided didn't have much of a grade (looked like it did in camera, or pretty close to it anyways). Not that it didn't look good, I just wanted to emphasize the look a little more.

This was a 2-day shoot. One was an overnight shoot to capture his dining room performance and all the underwater stuff (which appears in the next video below as well). The kitchen/interior scene was shot during the day. We were limited on tarp/duv so we had to make do with what we had in terms of blocking out light to make it look like night-time for the interior work. So a technique I've used time and time again was just to create tarp/duv coves where you block out a substantial area outside the windows/doors (like 15'x15') so you can position lights in that cove and shoot them through the windows/doors as opposed to just blacking out right against the window. Everything inside the home used this method.
The underwater stuff was lit with (2) above surface 1.2K HMI's gelled CTB and also had a Gates underwater light which we used just for slight fill at like 15% opacity since I didn't want much..didn't want it to look like a pool, so we got what we got haha. Wish we could have blacked it all out, but no budget/duv for that. The underwater was captured on a loaner Scarlet-D with STH OLPF and all the other content on a 6K Weapon with Kippertie's Carbon V1 OLPF. Those cams paired with Mamiya Medium Format glass.
Jeff Whitehurst - fellow RU was my underwater cam op! Great guy! Highly recommend. He knows his stuff!!

Did more cove lighting here as well for the interior work. Even if it's daytime outside, I try and create coves where/when I can so I can control that "fake" sun coming through as opposed to being limited by weather and sun movement. These visuals were from a combination of days spread across the shoot (which was a total of 6 days to create 4 music videos).
Hope you guys enjoyed!
