  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Seattle 4K

concrete, it was redcode 36 and I feel the same way you do. after trying a ton of settings I just can't get it to come out right. no matter what I do it comes out looking like its been passed through a crazy noise/posterization filter.

this was indeed a torture test for the codec. mid day sun. lots of specular highlights, fine detail everywhere. its amazing how much "cleaner" everything looks in the scenes with large amounts of out of focus, low frequency backgrounds. for example the portriat of deadmike with the 75 looks nothing like the beach scenes with the 75. they were both in focus, same stop, but the beech scenes have a lot more info to resolve. so I'm very confident that I maxed out the codec here. Greame tell me I'm wrong please.

at first I thought the PL adapter was out of whak, which indeed it was in one instance. BUT these are single group lenses, so the effect of a out spec mount is nothing more than closer focus. We were focusing via LCD, and even in the "sharp" areas of certian scenes I see what looks like aggressive noise reduction. this was the predicted result of maxing out a wavelet based codec.
