Does anyone out there know if script supervisors still print or capture images from the video feed for their notes and continuity? Back in the old days, they used video printers or a little more recently could grab still images directly onto their computer and put them in the script notes. Of course you could down convert the HD to SD and all that would still work but it just seem like such a waist.

I've been trying to find a HD-SDI frame grabber and not been coming up with much. In fact, I've only found one and it costs almost two grand because it also captures video.

The script supervisors I work with most often all use a software / hardware combo I believe is called "ScriptE" offered by this company: http://www.scriptesystems.com.

I use an AJA downconverter to send them an SD signal, from which they gather timecode and reference stills from the live feed, integrated into their "notes," which wind up being digital files (rather than print-outs) at the end of the day.

Best,

- Jordan
