Hi, i didnt know where to actually put this question in this forum... but here it is. I was wondering if anyone knows whats the most appropiated workflow between SCARTCH 4.0 and Nuke 5.0 for 2k .r3d files footage (having in mind there are vfx shots with green screen and all that fancy stuff and that nuke doesent support .r3d files).
well i would really appreciate a answer!

thnx!

DPX its the best option i gor so far. but what about the going back to scratch without having any issue with color and tone due to compression or format?

use either redlog or rawspace and export to dpx.
that will load into nuke very well. i have done some comp work with r3d files exported (from scratch and redcine) into dpx files. works well. make sure you deal with the gamma space properly. i would just read the damned dpx files as linear so you don't have to worry about any sRGB gamma issues.

I would use DPX(10bit) with a rec709 or RedLOG lut applied, or save off a pure linear file as an OpenEXR.
