Hi

Have someone tested this workflow:

1. Render MXF files from Metafuze as DNxHD 40.
2. edit offline in Avid
3. Export EDL from Avid
4. Load EDL into Scratch
5. Conform&Grade in Scratch

does it work?

if you use scratch in your workflow,FCP can edit r3d files easily and export EDL files to scratch .

For larger projects offline when you don't want to have those large r3d files, it's no difference between FCP and Avid doing it this way. It's the best workflow for PC anyway.

Make sure you use MetaFuze v2 that outs the original filename in the Camroll column. When creating the EDL, use that field as source and away you go.
