Running v5.2 coloring a 2k/4k 2:1 red one M-Sensor shot project, I was scrubbing through my timeline when the system pulled up loading bar, it seems like every other two times this system crashes, we had this system built by scratch off a pc based machine at Brooks Institute in Ventura CA. It is very buggy and unstable, would upgrading to 6 make it more stable, do we need to upgrade hardware? Whats the best windows operating syatem for scratch? we have windows 7 professional on sratch system and it is linked to another pc running windows xp with black magic ultra scopes. If you would like the full hardware specs and log files I can provide them.:zombie_smiley::zombie_smiley::zombie_smiley::zombie_smiley::zombie_smiley:

HI Joel;
As Stacey said: please connect with us at Assimilate and we'll arrange the best to get you to version SIX, most probably keeping your current HW.
In the meantime, please send a logfile of the crash to support so we can investigate.
Scratch is one of the most stable app i've seen in this industry for 15 years (this is my personal opinion).

Thanks,
Daniel

I know its the computer its running on that has issues. I am the only person that uses the system. One time the monitor just went out, when it came back assimilate was crashed and project file was corrupt. Yesterday my music video would freeze scratch and I was just scrubbing through, I have had constructs that wont export, scratch is tired of dealing with me because i send so many emails, they are slow to respond at times so I have just had to recolor projects that I spent hours doing scaffolds and secondary work on. Pain in the butt, I have been lookin to get into a post house with assimilate or pablo on a good machine with a real monitor that has sdi inputs! We have a decklink dvi to hdmi on a hp computer monitor! Our Scratch works for the most part but I am accustomed to it being jenky.

Joel,
Again, please connect with support. I never heard anyone at Assimilate support being "tired of dealing" with any user, from student to big studios.
Send a logfile please and we'll get it from there. Not contacting support is a dead end.

Cheers,
Daniel

WOW ... never heard of Assimilate being "tired" of any user. As a matter of fact their support is one of the best I've ever received.
Are you talking to them directly on support@assimilateinc.com ... or are you dealing with a reseller?

Scratch support is just 'prompt'.......Our last 2 years experience....So contact support directly with log file...
