Scenes From An Unmade Movie : "Size"

Hehe!

Nice work!

Love the subject too, ( been there:blush: ) even so at the end the guy kind of annoyed me, the role He plays off course, not him in it self.

I would have definitely let the girl use a robber band, anything to make her and my little friend happy:) :)

ciao
your little friend?.. :holloween:

I'm sorry to say this, Valde but... this is not true. Maybe you are placed in the wrong corner. Come to south. Rome seems more friendly for this stuff, above all.
really hope to be proven wrong! it's mostly that seeing so many bad performances on tv fictions and italian feature films quite discourages me ... maybe it's just that bad ones get higher because they have influent friends and relatives

you're forgetting the rest Valde..

"Do you know what Orson Welles was used to say about Rossellini's glory?

«His luck to be italian. All italians are great performers, after all...»
"

emanuel's..

Wow, that was amazingly funny. Saved to my Movies folder.

It looks incredible too. What's so great about the RED is that, when put in capable hands, it effortlessly removes the barrier between amateur and professional work. Now we can put our budgets into more important things, like skilled actors. Both of them are really good. Are they SAG?

Hey everyone, thanks for the great feedback. This was a no budget (well, a few hundred for rental of a few lights and some food for crew) film. The actors were found on Craig's List and the male lead is heading to LA to try his hand at becoming an actor. They are not SAG. I think one reason the dialog sounds so natural and the reason why it feels real and compelling is that I wrote an outline of the script, with key lines here and there and they did a fair deal of improv to get it some of the beauty that ended up on screen. It was very important to create a relaxed, fun atmosphere on set. It was them and a camera man in the bedroom and the rest of the crew sat in the hallway behind me, looking at the monitor.

Color corrected with Magic Bullet looks. I most likely spent the most time here since I didn't have time to go through RED Cine and wait for the clips to process (would have taken days). So naturally there are issues with dealing with gamma of Quicktime, FCP, etc so color correcting was a bit of a chore. I am happy with the results.

I will ask my DP about the 360 degrees and some of the more technical questions. Keep the questions, responses coming, I will do my best to answer them.

Awesome. This was one camera? It seriously seemed like two, with no stopping takes. Awesome acting. Very natural. And funny. Good job.

Your video for "through the hosiery" is absolutely incredible.

(edited: asked where the footage was from, but saw that it was listed at the end of the video)

Very funny. Great writing, and great job by both actors.

All the best on future endeavors!

Yep, one camera. Some tricky editing.

We are shooting a series of these. The second is on Saturday. A bit more ambitious. Crossing fingers.

Great piece! The guy was awesome, great acting. Reminds me a bit of Edward Norton. The girl not bad either. Despite only three camera angles that worked very well. Simple yet very entertaining! Keep up the good work. I'd like to see more.

A worthy effort, no doubt. I thought it was a bit too drawn out, but still very good overall, all things considered. The "Hosiery" piece, however, I found to be intriguingly compelling in many ways. Very interesting.

Jason, keep it up and you'll go far!

The best thing to me is the way you said ' it is not the colour'. In some places it looked like a big budget hollywood comedy.

very nice footage, what lens did you use?

We used a 19-35mm f 3.5 zoom set at somewhere around 24mm and a 55mm f 3.5. I felt that there wasn't too much movement in the scene so I opted for a 360 shutter as I really hate noise. In retrospect, I would have gone with a compromise and shot a 270 shutter. On the other hand, I pulled focus myself while operating so maybe a 360 shutter was the right choice. As I recall, most of the time I was at around a f4.
