  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

SCARLETUSER

Scarlet just now came to life! Why would we shut this down?

I personally love ScarletUser. Definitely a much different vibe but I still love both communities for different reasons. And you have to admit that ScarletUser was the place to go during the announcement because of that whole hacking fiasco.
 
I would prefer scarletuser go away (of the two) and not just because I don't have an account there haha.

The problems that face an epic customer at 120fps are pretty much identical to the problems at 24fps. Workflow is identical. Post is identical. Accessories are identical. Why have another entire forum devoted to the exact same cam but lower frame rates? There is so much overlap it would seem redundant. That and it's annoying to scan new posts on 2 different forums to get the same info.
 
Scarletuser have been there since the beginning, dedicated entirely to the Red Scarlet. Users have come here to Reduser for info and have keep the fire for Scarlet there in Scarletuser. Believe me that its not going to be dead from now on.
 
+1 for Scarletuser. Their time is now.

We aren't going anywhere. There is definitely a need for ScarletUser, and now that Scarlet has finally opened her eyes, the floodgates have opened.

I think both RedUser and ScarletUser exist nicely together, and neither have to die. They both reach different target audiences. The most important audience I think ScarletUser will appeal to is the new guy on the path to building a career. We now have more affordable professional tools, but that doesn't immediately make you a professional. I feel that is where ScarletUser comes in.

RedUser has the "for professionals" down pat. ScarletUser is exactly the same...we just like to add "aspiring" to that mantra. :}

If your films aren't playing on the big screen (yet), it's easy. Go to ScarletUser. Grab a name (we like real names, but any name will do for now), start posting. One day, you'll submit a post that says "now showing". Easy stuff.

If your films are already on the big screen, you can come over and make a big difference for those that are "aspiring".

We are in a transitional stage, but we're already working on a site overhaul for ScarletUser 2.0. We are different, but different is good. Change is good. The lurkers on both ScarletUser and RedUser are going to have a lot to say on ScarletUser once they have a Scarlet in their hands.

Why can't you have both? Whats the problem here? They have coexisted fine for the last few years why change it now?
