Hello All,
I am looking to buy a used Scarlett to use for now and eventually upgrade to Scarlett 'Dragon' sensor. Does anyone know how that process works? Am I wrong to assume that any Scarlett can be upgraded to the Dragon sensor? Is it a waiting list where you put some $$ down and then Red Cinema lets you know when its go time to upgrade? What is the cost involved in the upgrade? Also how much does it cost to change ownership if I buy a used Scarlett? After about a year of research and consultation to buy a cinema camera I am choosing the Scarlett over all the DSLR's and the new BMB and AJA cameras, any thoughts on that is appreciated.
Thanks everyone, have great shoots!

After you get the camera registered in your name (i.e. transferred to you), you log into Red.com and go to the store. Then there will be an option to purchase the upgrade. Once it's ready, then you send it in and pay (or upgrade to Epic). From the people I know who signed up for the upgrade, no money down was necessary, they were put on the list. As far as I know all Scarlets are currently possible to be upgraded. Best to confirm w/ the owner and Red before you exchange any money to be extra sure.

Upgrade cost is $9500 + tax, comes out to around $10,300. Transfer ownership is around $500 the last time I checked (it's cheaper than it used to be).
