Hello,

I just want to ask you people if someone know about the Sigma 18-35mm 1.8f on the Scarlet
Test shots or other tests ?
Because i have now a BlackMagic Cinema Camera and i'am no so happy with it ...so i may change to a scarlet but if i can keep my Sigma Lens for the Scarlet without getting a vignette it will be amazing.
And whats about 18mm on the 4K Mysterium X sensor is it wide enough?
Because with my Blackmagic it's just terrible need to get 1 Mile away to get a great wide shot...
And another Question for 100-50 fps on the scarlet whats about crop Factor is it still better then BMCC? Or will it be the same because i sometimes need a slow motion effect and 50-100 fps will be enough but im scared that the scarlet will crop to much on the 18-35mm but if it is better then on the BMCC then it's decided and i will take a Scarlet.

Thanks for Answers

Wow wonderful look great so that good i can keep my lens ! :) but now is the Question can someone show me footage from 4k to 2K HD(1980*1280) nee to know how the crop is.

Another Question how lon can i record on a 64gb for 50fps on FullHD.
And what is the best Aspect Ration to work with ? 6:1/7:1 /8:1 etc... What is the diffrence i'm am searching the whole internet to see diffrences about 6:1 or 12:1 and i cannot find it ...

Hello Michael,

6:1/7:1 are compression ration not aspect ration. Usually I work at compression 8:1. You can still shoot 10:1 for low budget docus but you'll probably start to find some compression artefact on high contrast and detailed scenes (leaf blowing in a tree, beach full of stones on bright light, deep focus scene or noisy dark scene). High profile jobs are done between 5:1 and 3:1. IMHO 3:1 is overkill. It's very difficult to find such examples but Greame, RED's coder and heroe, did a great job to get us R3D wich strenght is in small file size keeping the best quality.

If you want there is a tool that you can download on Iphones called KataBatic Digial, or another one called Data Rate calculator or on RED's website wich gets you all infos about how much GB/compression/time/frame size/FPS... you need.

See you.

Patrick

Thank you patrick i was thinking it was the aspect ratio :)
i will download it on my iphone

cheers

When i put this lens on my Scarlet (or 70D) it hardly goes off and i have not used my 24 and 35 primes for a long time. It's really a must-have lens, for RED shooter and APS-C-photographers.
