Scarlet-X Run and Gun... On the Beach... Guerrilla... sneak peek!

[Michael Shu]

Hey Y'all,

We completed a set of fashion promo videos earlier this month, testing the run/gun-ability of the Scarlet-X and merging footage with HDSLRs etc.

Take a little quick peek! We were working rather fast so didn't get too much BTS footage.

In the sand, we decided to go mostly handheld with our new side handle. Once we got within the shopping area of Laguna Beach, we worked on the monopod.

Since we couldn't run/gun a handheld steadicam with the Scarlet-X.... I had to betray my bros at Tiffen for a little bit and fly a 60D for a few shots... I had to shower away the shame later.

The shoot was edited into three videos, but we'll be combining them into a single short and sweet video soon!

Awesome!

[Robert L. Mickles]

Nice! Great work, as usual!

[Matthew Richard Harris]

No shame in the 60D, i think it's a supremely underrated camera (when discussing 5Ds, 7Ds and 550Ds). But compared to Scarlet... yes I can see how shame would creep in

Great video! I'm in LA too and have a feeling I'll be shooting beach stuff like that.

Very nice Michael. Can't wait to see the finished product. I hope you feel better now after using that 60D

lol I know how it feels to have to switch to a canon for steadicam shots. Hope you and Anthony got some great footage!
Cant wait to see it all edited together.
