We have read as many of the complaints about the loss of the 2/3" Scarlet and now know that we all have lost and gained something on Nov3rd. We realize now that for some, the Scarlet X is the camera some of you including us have been hoping for and now have, and for some a great loss of an equally great camera that would have been as equally useful to ppl.
We too where with the mentality of disliking all the complaining until last night, we realized that we where wrong in hating the complaints but understand now the frustration of your loss, it's just the way you all are grieving the loss of the 2/3" Scarlet. We send our condolenses to those who are sad and upset about the price increase and change in sensor along with other specs, we hope that all our brothers and sisters here on reduser find peace and happiness in anyway possible. Don't lose your faith in RED we are sure they will keep inventing new and differnt cameras until they meet all the markets,
but maybe thats just us being fanboys. In all seriousness we send our condolenses to all you that lost your dream and our congratulations to the ones that got what they wanted, but most of all we send luv and respect to all our fellow redusers out-there, we hope these words bring some comfort:emote_hippie: =)

Character includes being able to feel someones situation and empathizing. Although the Scarlet fits my needs perfectly I, like Ruben and Sheri, can feel for those who have waited up to 3 years on what turned out to be a dream. Group hug and let's move on.

The title of this post seems a bit off.

Not one of the people disappointed about lack of Scarlet Fixed hates Scarlet X.

No RED follower can be disappointed in Scarlet X. That camera was also planned for a long time (Epic S).

I don't intend to reopen that discussion, but "Scarlet X haters" seems a bit heavy handed.

You can't lose something you never had. Until it's sitting in your hands and you are actually using it, it is nonexistent.

As posted elsewhere, it was a HUGE leap of faith for me in 2007, had to go to NAB to see for myself that the camera was physically real, that Jim was actually the fellow from Oakley (spoke with him for a few minutes), Jarred was as tall as I'd heard (taller), listened to Ted describe the system (chatted with him too), met Kelly (who was single at the time), and Brent (who was manning the booth answering hundreds of questions, obviously with other plans on HIS mind), so I came back and placed an order before having to wait, literally one year to get the camera. I think we were on build 13 around then, don't remember. A lot has happened since then, and the camera is still a tank. As is the Epic, as will be the Scarlet I'm sure.

RED doesn't make junk. And Kelly is a mom now. Which all goes to prove, being involved with RED makes you irresistible to chicks.
