  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet-X #568 "Starbuck" has arrived!

I'm very excited for Zac. He has helped me out on numerous RED shoots along the way, and he and I sometimes go out and shoot just for the heck of it. Now to see things come full circle and he's got his own RED, I'm incredibly happy for him. I fully expect he's going to capture some killer images with this thing. Guys like Zac may be young, but they are also highly motivated and now with access to these fantastic tools, expect some great stuff from them.

Zac and I may get a chance to get together and "test" Starbuck sometime in the next few days. Looking forward to seeing him work his magic with the camera.

Congrats Zac ,Wish you all the best with your Starbuck

i m 3x17+4

All right, let's make things complicated... I'm precisely ([553+89-5/7*2.89-7]/12)/3.084+1-0.0026 years old as of December 29, 2011. :-)

(Hint)

LOL

But anyway, back to seriousness...

Global media pro. 160wh for red cameras, work like dream.

I've asked this question around the forum a few times already, but have received mixed replies. Perhaps you could verify this for me. Does that battery show percentage remaining on Scarlet?

It's great to have people like Steve in Ma. I'd love to join you guys anytime.

I have a couple months before I hit 30, but it makes me wish I had all my old student films in 4k. You know, future proofed for generations to come!

Oh wait...no...no I don't. I keep them safely buried away where hopefully no one will ever see them. I cringe thinking some of them are online, hosted on sites I can't control or that I've long forgotten the passwords to.

Hehe.. Like all those Zombie short films we made as students and regretted 10 years later...

These unboxing/arrival threads & pics have me convinced the average scarlet buyer is 17 years old.

This makes me happy if it is true. Next month will be my 4 year anniversary on REDuser. As a then 16 yr old awaiting a Scarlet, I am happy for all the young go-getters here.

I'm so happy for Zac, especially. Looking forward to what you will do with the Scarlet after your 3-EPIC shoot in Panama you just finished!

I looked at these but got little scared reading some nasty threads about global media pro. Not about the actual products but the service of the company. I tried to mail to them but they require that you buy something first. Have you anything to share about dealing with them?

Still have another 5 weeks in panama this spring! That project is far from over.

It was great moving from epic to scarlet, since they are the same camera, no new learning curve.

Thanks joseph, we've been friends a long time, now the days have finally arrived!

I ordered them, made the wire transfer and 10 day later I had all my batteries. Havent't had any need for customer service.

Yep, i posted on the thread here in the scarlet forum, saying that it shows battery % on the GMP batteries on a old red1 switronix plate.

I'm trying to get some footage up tonight, as well as pictures. Busy day today.

Here's a photo that was bound to happen:

And the whole rig. Canon 24-70, Scarlet-x, Wooden Camera quickplate with switronix battery plate. And Global Media Pro batteries. Just about 10lbs.
