Hey guys, I'm a new RED Scarlet camera user, and testing the camera on a different projects. With my earlier shots I struggled with some noise in my footage, but hopefully working my way through, Thanks to a lot of great RED veterans advise, here on the forum. Check out my latest video, and let me know what you think. I tried 5K too, those shots are not pretty, because of the 12fps, but gave me the widest shots of the stadium.

Magic Bullet Denoiser 2 is AMAZING

Thanks, I'll do my research on those. This was shot ISO 800.

So disappointed with the Bruins game today. But cool footage Patrik.

Nice! Is the strangeness at 00:30 from shooting at 5K?

Thanks Brian, yes, I think it was almost all of the wide shots, that were shot 5k 12fps, plus I applied some sharpening.

Thanks Steve, I know, I was at the game, as I cover the games for TV station back in Slovakia. I hope, they'll come back.

I assume this is Zdeno Chara related? When he first signed here, I knew of him, and knew he could play but at that time, the circumstances were a bit weird here in boston and like many fans I was a bit skeptical of the team. I've come to really enjoy his game. He seems like a class act as well, doing a lot of charity work, riding his bike to games, etc. Would be fun to do a small doc on him. Seems like a very interesting guy. He has a laser of a slapshot. Would love to get some phantom footage of his shot.

Yes it is. I mainly shoot interviews with him after the games. I'm working on a documentary about countrymen from Slovakia right now, and have plans to do a project with nhl players, but I love the idea to do documentary on Zdeno only. Tallest player in the NHL ever, with the strongest shot. I'll PM you about it.

Sure, no problem, although as I'm new to RED and RCX, there might be a better way.

1. I opened my r3d clips in RCX-pro, applied Flut, Alchemy, a bit of Unsharp mask.
2. I exported the files at 1920x1080 resolution as mov files.
3. Then I edited the footage in FCP 7.
4. Then exported the edited video, using Quick Time Conversion, and then changing to Mpeg-4 format. In options you change the file format to mp4, and in video format to h.264, Image size 1280 x 720 HD and Data rate 5000 (I believe that is the highest resolution for the vimeo)
5. And then just upload to your vimeo channel.

My r3d don't open in Adobe After Effects, or Adobe Premiere, I guess I need to fiddle around with the plugins to make it work. So in the mean time this is my workflow for fcp.
