We picked her up from the hospital -- I mean, RED Digital Cinema... earlier this afternoon, and she is a beaut!

Huge thanks to James, my Bomb Squad rep, for being awesome. I was sitting around my computer all morning wondering if I would get the call, and lo' and behold, I did! Unfortunately my SSD card is in the service of somebody else's production right now, but as soon as I have it back, I will post some grabs!

Also, my Zeiss ZE 50mm f1.4 isn't working too nicely. I'm assuming it's a firmware thing since all the other lenses work great? It makes a clicking noise and flickers when it's all the way locked in. When it's not locked in, it looks great, but I have no control over aperture. I'm sure there are threads about this somewhere, so I will do some looking around.

Anyway, I took REDucation when I first moved out to LA in... September I believe? And I fell in love with the Epic's and jumped at the chance to get my hands on something more affordable. I've already shot two shorts on borrowed Scarlet's and just love the camera. Can't wait to have one on hand at all times to keep shooting!

Good to hear another Scarlet is in the valley. I'm in Valley Village. Let me know if you ever need a backup.

Okay, I'm a total newb... Trying to upgrade to Scarlet v3 firmware and I can't seem to copy anything to my SSD... I'm sure there is a really obvious fix, but I've never had to do this before. Help?

The SSD is mounting, but it appears to only be readable and will not let me write any files to it... Otherwise the upgrade steps seem really simple and easy to follow.

EDIT: Nevermind, a good ole' reboot seemed to do the trick. And the Zeiss ZE 50mm seems to be working now, awesome!
