  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet-W + Zeiss Otus

Nice footage Morgan! I have the Otus 55mm and 85mm myself and they are my primary lenses on the Weapon.

Thanks Stacey! SUCH beautiful glass- How are you liking the Otus 85 w/ your Weapon? Thinking about picking it up as well after seeing how well the 55mm has performed.

Hello,

Thanks for the video. How is the breathing on the Otus? Have you also tested the 28 and the 85?

Pat

Hey Pat- It's present, but not awful in my opinion. I haven't tested the 28 and 85, but I definitely look forward to getting my hands on those at some point in the near future!

Its my favorite lens. I bought it to shoot doc interviews. Hoping it still works well with the 8k upgrade. I know I will have to sit closer to get the same framing, but with the fan changes of the DSMC2, that should not be an issue. I beleive that the 85mm has less chromatic aberration than the 55mm. Have you seen Matt Granger's (There may be some NSFW pics in Matt's review) review of the 85mm? He has some nice screen shots showing it vs. the Nikon G series. Really shows the contrast and CA differences. Before the Otus lenses I had all of the Nikon G 1.4s and I was not a fan. Mostly I felt they had far too much CA.

I should qualify what I like / want. I want something that will capture every detail and imperfection. I want it clinically clean, sharp and virtually transparent. I can always apply a filter to make people look more pleasing / flattering. Everyone has their ideal characteristics they want in a lens and even a camera.

Thats my thing too, Otus with Kipper tie is a killer combo. Loving Otus, have the 55 and 85, getting the 28 soon.
