Finally received my scarlet W and it turns on fine with AC power plugged in, but it won't seem to turn on or stay on with either of my red bricks (doesn't show green light on V lock IO as it does when plugged in). Thoughts anyone? Thanks for your time

Regarding troubleshooting, the green light doesn't turn on unless DC power is present.

Had the same problem here. I received mine last week. I contacted my rep, they patched me into the tech support folks and they gave me the solution. The V Lock I/O has a toggle switch at the top that has a filled in star logo and a non filled in star logo. Basically toggle that switch to the left I believe. That should allow the battery to power up the camera. When it's switched to the right, the module tells the camera that it's only going to accept power from the Lemo port. The rep told me this is useful in cases when the camera is only being powered by gimbals or DC inputs.

The manual isn't very clear but this is what is says about that switch:

The DSMC2 V-Lock I/O Expander also features a selector switch that enables the BRAIN to automatically boot when power is provided via the DC IN connector on the expander. This feature allows you to use a connected DC input supply to turn the BRAIN on and off when the camera is mounted in remote or difficult to maneuver locations.
