I've been working with IPP2 a lot lately. What Graeme has done for all of us is absolutely amazing. Thank you Jarred Land and everyone at RED Digital Cinema for putting these tools into all of our hands. I have been wanting to do a "fair" test between my Scarlet-W and my Epic-W for months. I am not saying this is perfect, mostly because the Scarlet-W was shooting legacy. So thankful for this new pipeline.

Standard OLPF on both.

RED Scarlet W
5KHD - 4:1 - 800iso - f4.0 - 29mm Sigma 18-35

RED Epic W

I am interested in getting feedback so that I can do an even better test. Any help here would be hot.

Checked both out in RCX and a Flanders Monitor with scopes. Epic-W seems to have a green bias, and also more noise in green channel?

Scarlet-W also didn't appear to have any more/less noise, which surprised me.

Scarlet-W also appeared to have deeper shadow detail, too.

But that could just be me.

Thanks for the test, and uploading the files.

Very generous of you.

I think both cameras are pretty amazing. The EW resolves more detail and better at low light. Its just nice to be able to process the footage and get everything to match in post without a ton of color work. These are straight out of RCX with nothing done to "match" them.. So thankful for Graeme and his hard work at making things easy for us.
