HI guys, I need to do a video project with a Tatoo Artist, I need to get good sound from some tools he use.
I have the Zoom H5 which I think is perfect but when I get the scratch audio from the camera is very low, as the fan noise is to strong.
Any tip on how I can get louder audio? It will be ok if I push the gain to max? Or will break something?lol
Maybe I should connect a rode videomic pro directly into the camera instead of using the internal one? BUt I think will still get the fan noise though....
Thanks
Luca

Luca, if you attach the Røde to the Scarlet and point it towards the sound source, you should be fine for scratch.

I tend to use the Rycote solution which has a small outrigger arm which makes it easy to aim it.
Or a simple magic arm should be perfect.
