  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet-W Menu Lag.

Also having problem with constant lat on menus, slow start and screen kind of splitting in half vertically.. for a millisecond.. = Epic W
Got two dragons on set today and the menus were fine.. well responsive.. so obviously Epic W issue started to resonate even more.

I do auto blackshade all the time on my Epic W and nothing is happen to me...hope they will do a new firmware update as auto balckshading is the bst thing so far in the red cameras for a lot of people...

Just to update on this. Tried my old 5" touch on the Epic-W today and it was totally fine, no lag whatsoever. Seems to only be an issue when using the 4.7" (for me, anyway)...

Thanks. I'll try the bigger lcd

Has anyone tried to see if turning off Auto Blackshading helps with the menu lag? I will see if it helps on my Scarlet-W this afternoon. I'm getting a fair bit of lag on my 4.7 making it hard to change settings on most occasions.

Updated to the latest firmware and turned off the auto black shading and the menu lag seems to be a lot better on my Scarlet-W. Not super fast but way more responsive than it was before especially when navigating through the dropdown menus. Kinda sucks to have to turn off the auto black shading just to increase menu performance though :undecided:

Any updates on this? Is the lag only with the 4.7” touch?
I just went from epic dragon with 5” to new epic-w with new 4.7” and it’s really crazy to think RED would allow a brand new piece of hardware to come out that runs like it’s six year old hardware that can’t keep up. Is there a fix? The lag is so slow you have to often stop completely from touching things, let it catch up or unfreeze then very slowly and deliberately and patiently click through. It’s a bit of a joke considering the cost of all this tech! How did they get away with that one?

Hey guys!

Any update on this matter? I'm having the same issue on my Epic-W and it happens when I usually plug a Mini-mag. Is the problem related on how we format the Mini-mag (FAT32 or UDF)? It takes so long sometimes to mount a mag and the boot time as well has increased.

I'l be happy to hear if anyone has found a way to fix the issue,

Thanks in advance!

Juan

Still waiting to get a response from RED as well
