So first time buying a red, as the Scarlett-W seems pretty great and within my price range. I come from shooting with Sony's and to be fair it certainly seems easier as the camera is built to start with, so just need some advice on the following..

So buying the Scarlett W kit with screen, base expander kit etc...

Now with the base expander can I just run red bricks or can I run normal V locks too?

Regarding Movi/Ronin use, what is the best way for power and screen mounting?

I guess the lipo route with velcro attached to the gimbal seems popular?
Using a cable such as this...

So something like that plugs straight into the base expander?

How do i go about mounting the Red screen to the gimbal, as the new DMSC2 cameras seem to have the screen permanently fixed into position.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Any v mount works. Reds selling the expander module with and without v mount. For movi I'd consider battery belt clip. Gets the weight off the camera itself. The screen doesn't have to be attached to the body, you can use an articulating arm or anything you want but then need a cord for the screen is all. You can also use your cell for control and get a third party monitor instead via fool control. So lots of options in general, look at the wooden camera and abelcine videos on weapon they have good overviews of accessory options, it's like a Lego set so reds or Alexa minis are quite malleable if you can invest in all the little pieces you need to kit them various ways

I rigged a weapon on a ronin job recently and we used slim gold mounts on the side of the camera. It fitted well and kept the cable drag down. Personally I always use a aftermarket moniter with a slim SDI cable, them use WiFi to control the camera.

I find that cable drag ends up being the biggest contributer to movi or ronin disturbance.

Wooden camera will likely come out with a side moint gimbal plate in the near future.
