  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet w Glidecam HD-4000 (no arm, no vest)

I think I have a 4000 Pro that we used with an XLH1 (yeah, it was just as heavy as Scarlet.) How much is the X-10 arm/vest combo and would you recommend that set-up, or would you suggest getting a complete kit?

Also does anyone know how the Glidecam X-10 compares to the Steadicam Pilot-VL?

What's the difference between the arm/vest and the complete kit? Apart from the sled? As for the Pilot, I prefer it, but it's much more expensive. The arm/vest combo is around $2,000 for the X-10.

The only difference would be that the X-10 "kit" would come with an HD-4000 instead of using the older 4000 Pro... I'm not sure what the differences between those sleds are or what the cost difference would be between a complete kit (with HD-4000) over buying just the arm and vest...

...I might be able to buy a Pilot-VL for less than $2k used, which is why I asked. So it should be "better", huh? Does the sled have those minute adjustments via bolts on the mount-side? That's the one thing I hate about the 4000 Pro, you could only loosen, slid, and then re-tighten, whereas newer sleds would allow you to slowly adjust the entire mount one thread at a time.
