Have been learning technical skills in vfx/editing/color/ and producing/directing passion projects since I started film 4 years ago with no idea what I was going to do after college. Never owned a camera during these 4 years but saw my friends climb up the cinematography ranks. They never understood that breaking into the directors job market is a climb far more difficult at the beginning. I had to build up a body of work and get lovely people to join together to create an idea. Having built up that portfolio at the expense of money and time, I am now I'm eternally grateful, for someone bought me a red camera in exchange for a documentary. I've been so poor most of my life, and now finally feel like an 8 year old kid again with this in my hands. Here's my first 3 days as a proud owner operator, shot around Portland, Oregon.

"Through The Eyes Of A Dragon"

shot on a 120gb card, a sigma 18-35, and a Helios 44-2.

Its safe to say I have a lot to learn and can't wait to start operating under great dp's to continue to learn the craft.

nice man, was this shot 5K at 60fps and then slowed down?

Steve,
4k for the majority. Stuff shot at 48,72,120.

dandelion at 2k 240.
image definitely softens gets noisey at 2k. Didn't black balance for it. If I could go back I would desaturate the greens a bit.
Glad you guys like it! Gives some confidence moving forward. I hate my own work but had so much fun!

I love Aronofsky's sound design so I always try to do it in intros to set up vibez. My buddy is a sound designer, so I often do a temp sound pass and he cleans it up. Didn't have the luxury of him on this one so gathered some effects from all over and went with the flow, summertime vibes.

heres an example of one of those intros if you guys like sounds :).

Caleb Shot that on the k-35's and it was a dream. Red dragon. Would love to go shoot with him or my buddy Paulius with their reds!
