I need some of the experienced guys or gals to offer some advice. It seems after I've exported the files through RED Cine X, each clip folder has multiples of the same clip with the identical file size of R3D's. Forgive my ignorance but is this normal? In one folder there will be up to as many of 4 seemingly identical clips each 4.03Gigs. Any thoughts or recommendations are appreciated.

The clip you're referring to, is it a long clip? This is most likely clip-spanning -- the clips are limited to 4gb file sizes and will span. You should be able to select any of the R3Ds and it'll open the same clip. Most programs recognize the clip-spanning and will just make it a single clip on import.

Hey Casey, when importing into premiere, don't use the "import" function. Use the media browser and point it to your clips folder. Now the clips will show up without folders and without duplicate clips, just one clip per shot.

its actually not duplicate clips, they are all one take/clip it breaks the files into sections but once brought into editing they are one take. here is a tip DONT rename the files.

this type of thing is not unique to red cameras, but it uses the feature more on red due to the BIG file sizes on what some people are used to being "short" takes

Quoting this so it doesn't get missed!!! This is the best, and possibly only, way to bring R3D's into premiere without dealing with spanning issues.
