I'm sorry if this was asked before but couldn't find anything precise.

Is it normal that boot time on Scarlet-W is 28s while on the old Scarlet is just 9s???

Also new 4.7" lcd runs 5C hotter (~40C) while old lcd is ~35C. New 4.7" also feels less responsive and slower in menus.

No dosn't look normal when I (had) the SW (I had to return back....) was quicker than yours.
yes my 4,7 monitor also get super hot,in fact they say they are going to change it (is the second time now, the first time was an oil leak in the screen). Which number you have? Just wondering if a batch of cameras and screen are defective.
after how long your screen get hot? Mine after 20 min was impossible to touch....

It's not far from the normal range. Mine also boots in 21 seconds. It may be that yours is loading more things (LUTs, many custom blackshades?)
Did you get the latest firmware?

If you wanted an "instant on" camera...get a Canon. :001_tongue:

Even though 21/28 seconds seems like a long time when you're standing there waiting for the camera to turn on, when you think about what the camera is powering up to do, it's lightning fast. Less than a half a minute. Goes by at the blink of an eye when you're not watching it like a hawk, but when you're desperately waiting for your touch to come alive and that record button to be enabled, seems like an eternity.

You can always leave your cam on, even enable power save mode to conserve battery life if you'd like, or just keep in mind you've got a beast in your hands that needs a few seconds to get up to speed.

It's well worth 21 seconds - that's what she said right? :hurray:

Sure...except for how much faster the Scarlet-X boots up.

Got some Red RDF happening here.
