Hey all, my Scarlet-W is obviously fairly new, but the red text/graphics on the Eject button on the V-lock expander have fallen off. Anyone else experience this?

Never mind. I'm over it.

Has anyone else had this issue?

This would be very disappointing if all Scarlet-W's had this issue.

Another user on the Scarlet-W Facebook group has the same issue.

The white graphics are also sort of rubbing off or almost starting to look smudged on the brain. Honestly I'm not too worried about it. It still makes pretty pictures. But it doesn't seem like the finish is holding up the way you would expect.

Obviously not a deal beaker, but for the money, yeah a definite bummer if thats happening.

In case anyone cares, I was told that this is considered normal wear and tear, even the red graphics flaking off for no reason. I honestly don't care at all what my eject button looks like and didn't expect or want a solution for my gear, but RED should probably acknowledge that these graphics aren't holding up the way they should. Never had this kind of thing happen with a camera before, especially after such minimal use. I guess maybe try a different finishing method in the future.

This is troublesome, I have been worried about rubbing off the graphics on the side of SSD where it says RED RAVEN. I take care to make sure I am not rubbing it too much while hand holding the camera by the handle and having the graphic brush against my leg. Aesthetics matter to me ( I know, I know as long as it works) but I wouldn't want my month old camera to look like its been battered so soon.

Jon:

My graphics were coming off very soon after I got my Scarlet-W. Like you, I'm not to bummed or concerned about it - more just to let RED know that it is happening and maybe can fix it on future cameras.

Exactly Michael! I'm not worried about it in the least on my camera. I hadn't even noticed until it was mentioned. It's not a big deal to me. But perhaps it's something RED can look in to if they are aware of the issue.

Just makes the camera look cooler imho ;)
