Sorry if this has been addressed but is Premiere now working with Scarlet W footage?

I don't think so. The app hasn't received an update since I've heard of the issue.

Ah bummer.
So what are you guys using at the moment? What are the best workflows looking like?
Thanks.

Looks like I'll be editing my first few Scarlet-W projects with the prores files... bummer!

You can do a typical online/offline workflow especially because of the internal ProRes side by side. With the cam generating your offline files all the old issues with relinking should go away. Just export the XML for Resolve, add only the R3Ds to your media pool in Resolve and almost every clip should relink properly.

Obviously it'd be great to stay within Premiere, but even if you're new to Resolve there are tons of short youtube tutorials about roundtripping. Been pushing to Resolve for all projects recently for the better color controls and what seems to be higher quality of color rendering (maybe it's just the placebo effect).

I've been doing everything with Resolve 12 so far. Looking forward to the Premiere update :)

Anyone heard anything recently? Would love to get the native support going with Scarlet-W soon hopefully.

Last we know, Adobe isn't releasing any update until the big one drops in a few months.
I've been using RED Cine-X Pro to perform light correction and export to PP friendly formats like .MOV. You can retain the bit depth which will still give you lots of room for grading. Otherwise, like others suggested, round trip through Resolve. It sounds like a pain but it works really well. Just watch your transition effects and seeding clips and you're good.

It's odd that this fell through the cracks. What could be so different about RED files created by the new cameras that Premiere needs to be overhauled? At a minimum Premiere should be able to handle the files without allowing access to the metadata panel. It's not like RED and Adobe have not been through this cycle before. Maybe Adobe should move to a monthly fee schedule so they can afford to keep up with technology...

Could be a pissin contest via Adobe. Could be nothing. Who knows. Either way we shouldn't worry. I'm sure there will be a fix soon. Meantime we just adapt and keep on moving forward. I know it sucks but, I mean really, we're problem solvers. From light to talent to location to weather, we solve it all. This is minor compared to what we deal with on a regular basis. Piece of cake brother.

Lol. I'm not a big fan of the subscription-only model. I'm using Resolve these days...

Yeah, when you're paying $50 a month for the rest of your life (TV is the only career I've known), you tend to expect a bit more from Adobe.

Going on my annual month long surf trip to Indonesia in June. Hoping that when I get back in July, it's all sorted. Having to transcode all footage to ProRes is time and drive space consuming to say the least.
