SCARLET USER MEETUP SYDNEY 18:03:12

Black Wattle Bay park - Glebe

2Pm

WET WEATHER

Forecast is "ok" for tomorrow. But if they are wrong and it's bucketing down, we will postpone the meet up and set another date.

Hi everyone,

The proposed date for the hopefully first of many Scarlet User Meet Ups in Sydney - is Sunday March 18th in Syd.
The date is not set in stone. If the majority of those who have expressed interest can't make it we can look at rescheduling.

Should be a great opportunity to network with other users, talk shop and have some laughs.

Alternatively, we can always conduct some RED rituals, (see Page 146 in the Ops Manual) sacrifice a 5D, get drunk and wake up with tattoos of RED FAN BOY on our collective asses.

Meet up location: TBA (Sydney Metropolitan)

Also an apology to the those in Melbourne I'd really hoped to meet up with this month. Hopefully some of you may be in Syd around then.

Best

Lliam

Hi Lliam,

I'd certainly be interested in attending a "meet up" at some stage. Maybe at a later date as I'm still waiting for a couple of parts to power the units (sidehandle and APU AB backplates) and it would be nice to get some experience before attending a meet up.

I'm located over a couple of hills from you at Erina.

Cheers

Mark

Hi Lliam,

What a great idea, thanks for organising this.
If you can make it Saturday 17th March instead of the Sunday, I'll be there.

cheers
James B.

Hi James, very sorry mate. I can't do the Saturday the 17th. But if a good time is had and there's interest, I'll look at another one for mid year as well. Or of course anyone can set anything up for anytime they want! :)

Also just wanted to say to anyone who doesn't have their Scarlet yet, that's no problem at all, come on down, I can't vouch for anyone else but I'm very happy for anyone to shoot and test some with my camera. Besides the chance to meet everyone, chat and have some laughs will probably actually be the bigger part of it I'd imagine.

Hey Mark, wow your just at Erina! Do as you feel is best, but I'm hoping the day would be great for anyone, but particularly if your new to the camera. To be blunt. I greatly respect knowledge and experience. But I hate elitist wankers. I feel very comfortable with Scarlet now. But I can't wait to watch others and ask for opinions etc.

Anyhow, regardless, happy to meet up with you anytime. I have two ways to power my camera, so happy to meet up befor the 18th and you could use my Vmount set up. Just PM me if your interested.

Location wise, I'm very open to some suggestions. I'd say consider shade and parking, and then where there's a good sized but quiet pub nearby, the kind of place where ten odd people can sit around with bags of camera gear :)

My suggestion would be Black Wattle Park at Glebe...

Best Wishes all

Lliam
