  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet update in mid-May

Please no C**** or N**** posts here. Any transgressions will be a cause for public flogging at said date and time. Depending on the severity of the infraction, the guillotine may be employed. :hand:

Lets just hope this update will be that they're taking reservations for Scarlet as well. That would be AWESOME.
 
Just when I think I'm out, they keep pulling me back in.

Mid May huh? Think they're going to push to beat Panny to the punch?
 
It'd be nice to hear some info about the S35, even if its only to say thats its trailing the 2/3 by four months.... (thats not a guess or speculation, its a random number that I've picked)
 
Come on!!! there has been August 09 Nov 09!!!!!! so lets not go overboard, be realist then you wont feel the bag as you hit the ground. lm all for scarlet, l make my living producing corporate video and can't make virtual productions with a virtual camera, a camera has to BE ONE SALE repeat ON SALE to be a camera.

I also dream that they announce that finally the sensor is not 2/3 anymore but 16mm ! (I know it won't make a big difference but it's just a dumb thing haunting my mind XD)

And what about a new module that would combine the I/O (or pro I/O) module, the SSD module and the battery module in one ? Just for the convinience of not having too muche separate modules plugged as I'm a bit affraid of the strengh of the connections between modules (and that would make se camera look more like an Alexa or a SRW9000 which, maybe, can be convinient for somebody.... else.... than me...........).

Anyway, that's a module I'd like to see.
I thought about onboard ProRes (or DNxHD) recording like some other brand but finally I think "let them do it, we stay in RAW !".

And just to know, as far as the specs are known... The Scarlet will still be able to shoot 1080p RAW ?

2/3" format became popular because it matched the TV projection aperture of standard 16mm film almost exactly. Video and telecine footage could intercut seamlessly for broadcast. Super 16mm is a little larger.

This will give you an idea of where Scarlet falls based on the latest info on pixel size we have. At 3k widescreen format it exactly matches 16mm.

I, for one will be shocked and flabergasted if there remains any scarlet configuration that is ready to shoot for under $5k. Amazed if this still exists after the next update that actually releases any update on price, configurations and status.

oh man, I was so excited to see this thread that I misread it as Big Scarlet update coming at midDay, and the time as 7:11Am instead of 7:11Pm... so I waited 5 hours, only to come back and realize the truth...lol what delirium!
