I am a film student looking for some of the technical specs for Scarlet for a report. I'm still new at alot of this and would appreciate any help or direction.
What I need are Scarlet's :compression ratio;
What codec does it utilize:
What is the chip size and style. I may have seen these specs but did not understand the DV lingo. If anyone has these specs or can direct me to where I can find ( and understand) them, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

All of your answers are at http://www.red.com/epic_scarlet/

Here's a quick cheat sheet:

Compression: Essentially Zero. If you're used to DV or most HD codecs, prepare to be wowed. Technically, It's not "uncompressed" but "Compressed Raw" This means the recording gets compressed with all of the sensor information intact versus throwing most of the information away.

Codec: Anything coming from a red product records in Redcode Raw. (a wavelet based codec.) - Bitrate/compression of information varies from model to model.

Chip: 2/3 inch Mysterium-x CMOS, S35 Mysterium-x CMOS, FF35 Mysterium Monstro CMOS.

this will help.

Although the latest brochure is missing pixel counts, does anyone know what the active pixel counts (H x V) will be for 16:9, 2:1, and 2.40:1 on the 2/3-inch Scarlets?
