All of a sudden my Scarlet is not recognizing my lenses, specifically Canon 16-35, 24-70 and 70-200. No info in upper left of touchscreen, no ability to control iris....HELP! Thanks in advance.

Phil -- what version of firmware & is this a Scarlet-X or a Scarlet-Dragon ? I'll assume you get "N/A" for the f/stop. You probably have 6.0.* firmware (or even some of the later 5.3.* versions). In any case, RED is working on this problem. I have had some minor success with my Epic Dragon using the following "fixes": try power cycling with the same lens attached a few times, and see if you get control of the iris. Wait a few seconds (maybe 10 seconds or so) between power cycles. You can also try booting up with the lenses set to MF & with IS off. And various combinations of these options (AF & IS off, etc.). See if you can hear the lens doing an initial "hunt" when powering up.

Also, see if you can find a lens with a CPU that the camera has never seen before. Pick "Later" when this unknown lens is detected during start-up & the camera wants to know what to do. Power down & then try one of your Canon lenses with a CPU in it (any of the 16-35, 24-70 or 70-200). See if this helps.

As a last effort, see if you can backtrack to 5.3.33. This may be impossible, depending on what version you currently have installed. Read the release notes for the version you are running before trying this.

Again, RED is working on this problem.

Tx,
Serge

I'm having the same issues. Initially I thought it was poor contacts on the camera body but this thread makes me think otherwise. If I cycle the power the issue usually goes away and if I'm in a crunch for time, sometimes detaching and attaching the lens back on works. Of course, YMMV.

Hopefully the next firmware update addresses this issue.

I'm running into this same issue here.. If I power down completely and rePower back on, it will read the fstop. Yet, if I don't and swap while the Dragon Scarlett is running.. Then I get an n/a in the upper left corner..

I've had this come up occasionally on shoots. It seems to happen when I'm doing more run and gun shooting, but only occasionally. Typically remounting the lens and power cycling have seemed to fix it most of the time. In these instances, I probably was a bit more careless and perhaps the lens was not fully secure.
