Has anyone ever had this happen to their Scarlet? Happens randomly, if you restart the camera it goes away.

Does the R3D show the same artifact or is this just in the monitoring path? If so, it could be a cabling or port issue...

Try to problem solve by Saving a log first - Restore and blackshaded the camera at slower speed, see if it help

Had something similar happen to me, but it stuck there permanently... had to send it into Red :( I've seen quite a few people have the problem intermittently, but only a couple have it permanently. Not sure what caused it, they just said they replaced some internal component.

I had the same problem, restarting helped a couple of times. But the 3rd or 4th time it was permanent and wouldn't even recognize the redmag to reload the firmware. Had to send it to RED. They fixed it and had it back to me in a few days.

i think i have the same problem. even since the day i got the camera. but since i live in Turkey i am really wondering how will i re-send it to red to be fixed.

i have the same problem and i am using 3.0.7. it gives split screen (black) or noisy (blues, green etc) screen in opening . In case i record something recorded files are corrupted and it is not possible to play back them. So i sent the log files to RED and they asked the camera back but since i live in Turkey it is a HUGE cost and procedure for me.
I downgraded to ver 3.0.0 and it seems problem disappear for almost 7 days. But i am not sure if it will be happen again..

any suggestion will be appreciated.

I know it's a pain but SEND IT IN FOR REPAIRS. You wouldn't drive a car on the freeway knowing your brakes were out.

Eventually it will become an issue and better to just bite the bullet and deal with it now. Imagine if this happened on a huge shoot? Then it is an even bigger problem.

It may be cheaper if you send to Red Europe in the UK?

Ergen, the best, easiest, and cheapest way to have your camera fixed is to fly here with it, and fly home with it when it is repaired. I have friends in Turkey who have had similar problems with customs and this is the way they do it now. Do you have a travel Visa for USA? Good luck, I hope you find a solution.

Clint

Hi Clint,
thank you for the advice.
I talked to my friend in rental house in Turkey and he said sending back camera for repair even harder than the regular export.
I have just came from USA (3 weeks ago) with my scarlet. yes i have visa and most probably i need to go there again just for fix the problem:(
