Now granted, the Scarlet S35 will be primarily a video camera. I have been reading articles about photographers using the RED One as a stills camera by shooting 24 fps and then extracting 4K stills. I am confused about the stills ability of the Scarlet. I know that RED will be having a stills mode that will take pictures in a separate, non-video mode and I was wondering if there were any ideas on the megapixel counts of these stills and the speed of the camera in still mode.
I like the idea of extracting stills from video and I was wondering if the Scarlet s35 will also be able to do this as well as the RED. I guess a better question would be how the video capabilities of the Scarlet s35 compare to that of the RED One. I know that it can go up to 5k but are there any differences in Redcode compared to the One? Would Redcode even matter in stills extraction? In a nutshell, will the Scarlet s35 have the same quality of video or better than the RED One considering that the brain is $10,000 less?
