  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Just wondering if anyone has any insight on how RED plans to produce the Scarlet? Do we know if they plan to produce a large stock and then announce their availability, allowing us to receive our new baby soon after we order it. Or will it be like to the ONE, a long waiting list for the first year or so.

The reason I am curious is that they're people on this forum who seem to be stopping their careers and planning their life around their Scarlet. But in reality, it could be another year before we actually have one in or greedy hands. Even if they announced the Scarlet tomorrow, I wouldn't expect to get one for months.

What do you guys think?
 
They said there is no waiting list. I think the Red One owners have the option to get their hands on them earlier than everyone else.
 
The silicon is substantially smaller than red one, and so the yield of sensors should be almost 4 times that of the one. Whether that translates directly into the number of camera bodies remains to be seen, but the 2/3 scarlet should have a somewhat higher availability.
