Judging fidelity on the web versus on a cinema screen is as big a differential as you can have. The film looks sharp and professional, but it will not look the same on a 50 foot cinema screen. Being a film about Navy SEALS and the accompanying fast pace action it will certainly have I have no idea how they would shoot around the abysmal rolling shutter and damn moire issues that come with the Mark 2 and 7D.
I worked in post on a Mark 2/7D shot film in the spring and when it was projected for its first theater screening for the filmmakers (well established, professional guys) their faces went white. It really took the wind out of them when they saw the difference in fidelity. Hated that they had to experience it that way.
I generally feel the audience at large pixel-peeps much less than anyone working in cinema does, and that they let much go by if the story is strong. But when the fidelity of cheap, unprofessional motion cameras like these becomes a distraction when projected for TRUE CINEMA, there is a huge problem.
When you shoot RED this problem does not exist---on the web, or on an IMAX screen.
