  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet post workflow / MacPro

If your projects are short form (or highly compressed) you can probably squeeze by without a rocket and occasionally rent a rocket when needed for fast turn arounds. Longform with tight deadlines is where these things excel the most. As pointed out a lot of us 32 bit NLE guys aren't even used to real time editing using native media without transcoding proxies. So that alone is a time saver in itself, the rocket is just the icing on the cake when exporting out deliverables should you opt to edit native redcode rather then proxies.

If you edit in proxies then the rocket seems more useful since you will need to create proxies with it up front to edit, relink, color, sound, and then export finals. So the rocket could help in both proxy creation and final delivery in that workflow case making it used twice as much...

Jean that thing works fine for mobile use, but thunderbolt versions are on their way out shortly

No problem, everything I know is from May 2011 Reducation, experimentation, and reading these forums probably a bit more then is healthy for quite some time, even before I became a registered member...
