  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet Owners chime in here

So one needs at least 4 RedVolts, because charging time is 120 mins. By the time the last battery is consumed, the first should be recharged.

More for real continuous use. Camera pulls ~50w, charger charges avg ~15w, so you should have at least 5 redvolts and 4chargers for constant shooting, more if you'll ever need to shoot somewhere you can't be charging 4 batteries constantly. Then again you could get away with more if you don't wait for batteries to fill since the first 80% charge is likely done at a faster rate.

James, I'm actually originally from Durham... but live in NYC now.

Interestingly enough, after I upgraded to 2.0.5 it seems to quiet down significantly more while recording. Using manual settings, I can say it's pretty darn quiet once you get down to the 30-40% range, and that should be adequate for most rolling.

Oh, no way! That's awesome. My cousin has a custom workshop up there that he let's me make camera tools and mods in(rigs, grips, braces, nothing fancy). That whole tri-city area is pretty nice. Not sure if you've been back recently, but make sure you go to Watts Grocery. I've been all over the USA, and it is still one of my favorite places to eat.

The 2.0.5 update sounds promising. Does it start roaring before/after recording, or is it a subtle hum? Subtle hum between takes is totally acceptable, but R1 fan levels were a bit distracting. (Don't get me wrong, love the R1 on sets)

That's why I'm going down the V-mount route....too much hassle
