  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet Noise

Did you set up the fan for the manual mode? If so, what amount?

Come on Scarlet owners, learn your camera :biggrinjester:
Last person asked if there was a built in mic...

it was advertised that it may or may not be able to make poptarts. is that gonna be available in a firmware upgrade soon?

Yes it will make fan noise whilst recording. It does slow and it is something you can adjust. :)

sorry phil. Just messin around. You can go into your menu settings and change the strength of the fan during record. you can set it pretty low. if it needs the fan though more than your lowest setting it will automatically override that i believe.

Jesus. lol. What a pleasant community. If you don't have a helpful answer, why reply?
Bizarre, but hey...thanks Patrick. Just curious why automatic mode still so loud.
Happy Easter.

It's cool, people here just expect users to search around a bit / know their camera well.

That said, I stumbled across the fan settings while playing with my Scarlet, so it's not really front and center. As Domenic said, set your "record speed" fan setting to something a little lower, like 35 percent. I found the lowest is a bit too warm for really long shots, but 35 seemeed like a good balance.

Besides, if things _really_ start cooking inside the camera, the automatics will over ride your settings anyway and kick the fan up to %100. Might trash your sound, but not the camera...
AND - your TEMP READING on the display will change colors as internal temps rise too - another warning...

So what you're saying is that we CAN make Pop Tarts with Scarlet. Nice!

Has any one noticed that AUTO fan mode seems to function just like manual? On my Scarlet there's no need to go to MANUAL to set the speed, I just change the values in AUTO and the camera reflects those changes immediately.
