  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

scarlet music video

Hey Francisco. Nice job on lighting and editing. You made the scarlet look pretty darn good. But I will confess, I'm growing so tired of these type of music videos. I have no idea of your involvement in this I don't don't want to sound harsh, but I'm so curious what it's like sitting in the room while ideas were being thrown around for concepts. I'm obviously not the demographic this was intended for so I'll shut up now.

Thanks Jon. I dp'd edited etc. It was shot in ATL and Miami. The logos are blurred to avoid legal issues the producer didnt get clearence i assume. This video was a very last minute thing. I got a call on friday had to be in ATL on sat to shoot haha got to love it.

Impressive for no prep time.

Francisco, what did you use for grading? Looks really good man.

Was the slo-mo 2k? I dug the skull/light flashes and the ever-so-slight-animated lions... I'll admit the blurs were a little distracting, which is odd because normally I don't care about stuff like that.

slow mo 3k 48fps super slow mo at the end was twixtor. The label added the blurs I have a copy without it but cant put up yet.

Impressive. Again good work.

yo nigga, yo nigga, nigga, nigga... retarded lyrics but looks great.

great work francisco! I watched the video when it premiered on Vevo. I gotta ask you, How did you do the skulls and the lion animations? that was awesome! looks like it was a fun shoot with all those guys.. I worked with 2chainz in atlanta last year, he's funny as hell.

Hi John, The skulls and lions were all done in post using 3d/AE. Chainz is funny as hell and one of the few people I have come accross who are super down to earth. Wiz is another one. Which project did you work with Chainz on?

lens for the most part was a tokina 11-16 2.8 and zeiss 50mm 1.4. When it comes to 3k 48fps you need a wide lens with the 2.0 crop. turns it to a 22-32.

i'm not sure if you would know this but which program was used to implement the 3D Lions? After Effects or a different program?

Incredible vid by the way!!! defiantly one of the better hip-hop vids done this year..

the CG and tracking was pretty good.

the blur on logos/faces is starting to become the norm now.

reminds me of the bleep on v.o. which is kinda funny itself.

pretty soon it'll be added as a regular effect just for artistic/fun value...or is it already?

Francisco great job and would love to pick your brains now some parts were shot in regards to lighting.
