  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Scarlet - Made in USA?

Made in the USA.

Jim

Woo-Hoo! So on the off-chance that the Trade Act of 2009 actually reappears as the Trade Act of 2011 (never know in an economic climate like this and at the start of an election cycle) you're golden as apple pie. :thumbup1:

Jim would have said assembled if it weren't made completely in the USA .... just my 2c

Honestly, hardly anything that's complicated is sourced from one country only. E.g., a GM car has a lot of parts made in Asia. That's just he way the world is and has been for quite awhile now.

sure you're right ... my thoughts were, that it would just be components imported from somewhere like the capacitors, resistors, etc. and not whole modules .... hope I get my english right .... not too much possibilities to practice ....

It's us who need to practice...for years...to be able to use combinations of vowels as precisely as you guys. Every time I've been in Austria I've been politely corrected in my pronunciation of vowel combinations (usually in names) and sometimes I find it completely impossible to correctly pronounce the subtle differences. You're certainly playing a more nuanced game over there. We'll give you a mulligan on English syntax. :rolleyes5:

Nice to know that it is all now under the Supervision of the RED Army ;)

Better supervised by our RED Army than by a Red Army officer presiding over prison factories. But actually, I would expect it to be contracted out with RED doing QC and planning. Which makes me wonder where and what companies in the US would be doing the various kinds of work required: optics, sensor and chip fab, board fab, assembly ... Which makes me wonder even more about price points.

Anyway, I still think this is great, and while I know no one cares, I did post this suggestion four months ago:

Hope you get the Epic assembly line up and running soon. And maybe leave expansion room for Scarlet. This jobless "recovery" still hurts. The US$ is way down and will stay there for some time. Why not make 'em all in the USA? A new stage in the tradition of overbuilt, rugged, innovative tools.
