I do mostly talking head documentary and films in controlled environments. This is what I've put together as a bare-bones system for long form work and what I believe is one of the cheapest options.

Scarlet X AL Canon Mount (w AC power) = $9750
DSMC Side Handle = $950
256gb Red Mag (group buy discount) = $2487
CoolLCD HD1 Field Monitor (access menu through HDMI out, control through side handle) = $150
Red Station = $250

$13,587.50

Any objections or issues? Also, interested in those that want to do a group buy on the 256GB Mags 4-pack (http://www.red.com/store/media/product/redmag-256gb-4-pack) we would save $713 each if we bought as a group.

I think it a fair package. I would add a red top handle to the package, maybe the tactical top plate for some unexpected mount needs. I would definitely try to get an extra 64GB card. In documentary situations (you do say you work in controlled scenarios, but you never know!) there's always room for something unexpected to happen. An extra card is always a good "insurance" . This has always worked for me when I was shooting P2 cards. Never regretted having more!

+1 I im going to go with a 256 and a 64 so that if i fill up the 256 i can off load the 256 and still have something to shoot on in the mean time. Very Valuable.
I already bought my 256 other wise id chip in with you.

+1 on the top handle This is what im getting.
